MUST HAVE COCKTAIL GLASSES FOR YOUR NEXT DINNER PARTY

Upgrade your dinner party game with the coolest cocktail glasses I could find.

Cheers

We’re going to go through several different cocktails, and the vessel from which you should slam them. A little bit of mixology, a little bit of vocab and a lot of shopping, lets get into it. PHOTOS ARE LINKED TO SHOP JUST CLICK ON THEM!

The Wines

Brace yourself-I worked at Jonny Carino’s, so I think I know what I’m talking about.

White

As a loose guide, white wines are typically served in a medium sized glass with a narrower bowl. I will insert a graphic linked to Virginia Wines below if you’re looking to be the connoisseur of your friend group. White wine is typically chilled before serving, so I have also included ice buckets.

Green white wine glasses from Ferm Living. These also come in pink and clear, and are not designated for any particular type of white.
MoMA two toned set of two for $40 dollars

Red

Reds are served in a larger bowl and are typically not chilled. Now I love reds, but never drank them in public because it stained my teeth and lips so f*cking bad. Luckily my aunt introduced me to wine wipes! Clearly this is a problem for a lot of people, so I have linked these as well. Click on the words “wine wipes” in this paragraph and it will take you where you need to go.

Hand blown Pinot Noir glasses from Wine Enthusiast. This set of two goes for $60 great for a wedding registry.
Cabernet Sauvignon Glass from wine.com sold individually for $49. According to the website this glass was designed for full-bodied, complex red wines that are high in tannin.

Wine Word: Tannin- Grapes contain tannins that give different blends different texture and structure. Essentially a high tannin wine will give you a dry mouth feel, and taste bitter.

Ice Buckets

Chill your wine 20 minuets before serving

STUNNING, but at the same time I see a trash bin, but still stunning. If someone whips this out at a dinner party I automatically know their life is better than mine. (JK I still love my ice bucke -less life). Bergdorf Goodman- $108

The size with this one is key. The smaller ones are cute, but when is the last time 8 people shared one bottle of wine? Church maybe but that’s about it. Crate&Barrel- $60

Generic Wine Glasses

Hand Painted set of four from Anthropologie ($44)

Wave wine glasses from House of Nomad ($85)

Personal favorite, I think these are so fun!

Etsy $23

AMAZING GIFT IDEA-Hand painted goblet wine glasses from Etsy sold as sets of two for $73.

Margarita Glasses

I had absolutely no idea until making this post that margarita glasses are meant to be shaped like upside down sombreros.

The classic margarita cocktail is in a variation of a champagne coupe with a rim coated in salt or sugar, and of course a tequila based drink. What the hell is a champagne coupe? My favorite type of glass for no other reason but the aesthetic. We will get to these next, but think old Hollywood.

If you’re looking for a more refined margarita glass Riverbend Home has a clear, ribbed set for $30 that make a great option. If you want to stray away from the traditional glass all together the Mikasa Phoebe set of four from amazon is amazing.

Champagne Flutes and Coupes

How cute would a hoodie be that said “Flutes and Coupes” on it with a bunch of tiny glasses all over it. If one already exists someone please let me know.

Eve smoke coupe glass rom Crate and Barrel, for SEVEN DOLLARS.
Morgan Flutes, Set of 4 from Anthropologie ($39). These also come in lilac and a quartz tones set.

A Coupe is a shallow broad bowled glass, while flutes are tall narrow glasses (probably what you’re used to seeing champagne in). Flutes are popular because their shape helps to preserve the bubbles. Coupes are popular because they are chic! No joke, the wide bowl warms your drink and looses the carbonation much quicker than the flute. Meaning, all the coupe has going for it is style. However, if you are a fast drinker, the coupe will do!

Flutes

Set of two in emerald, also comes in blue and yellow from Wolf and Badger- $120

Set of two from ban.do, perfect for mimosas! Ban.do also markets them for drinking sparkling water if that’s your thing!

A flute and a coupe together in the wild!

Heart shaped glasses from Anthropology-

$20

Coupes

My favorite so there’s lots and lots… enjoy

Maison Balzac set of two- $139
Amazon set of two ribbed pink coupes- $30
Amazon set of four- $54
Pottery Barn Set of four- $44

Obsessed with these ones. If you’re currently engaged, these would en-gag me if they were used for any type of engagement/ bridal photoshoot. SIMKHAI set of two-$139

Strawberry shortcake, soft girl vibes. Very f*cking cute for some type of besties dinner party where you all get dressed up in a pink theme. Maison Balzac set of two- $139

Best bang for buck here set of six on Amazon for $69

This to me is the perfect gift because of the presentation alone. On top of that the glasses are iridescent and the set of four is only $49.

I know I was sh*tting on coupes earlier when it comes to champagne, but they work great for martinis and manhattans! I often see espresso martinis served in a coupe, so if you ever make your own add one of these sets to your birthday list!

Martini Glasses

Martini glasses are traditionally in a V shape because it encourages the drinker to “sip” the drink. Why is this a good thing for a martini? Probably because it’s all f*cking alcohol, but I’m not a professional. As we have already discovered they can also be served in a coupe, which has a rounded bottom.

Set of two from VISKI- $37
Wayfair set of four- $31
Neiman Marcus set of four- $100

I realize that these have more of a coupe shape. I am putting them with the martinis because you’re sure as hell going to be sipping. I am really not sure how practical these glasses are, but they are beautiful. This is a customizable set of five from Etsy for $36. Amazing bridesmaid gift if you ask me.

This set of four from Houzz feels elevated and fresh. Pro tip, any gold rimmed glass is hand wash only.-$73

I know there are many more shapes to go through, but that’s all for this post! Hopefully you learned a little about drinkware, and maybe even found your next set!
