How to Thrift and Style your Christmas Home Decor

It’s Thriftmas!!

This post is going to be a mix of what to look for at the thrift store, and how to style your thrifted Christmas Home Decor.

You should have seen me try and carry this out of the store, it was a nightmare. Highly recommend brining another person.

My original idea with the Christmas coffee mugs was to tie them on my tree as ornaments. I thought this would be a cute way to jazz up the bow Christmas tree trend. Unfortunately, I did not have sturdy enough ribbon to support the weight of the mugs, but I still think this is a cute idea! If you try it tag us on instagram @whatsfresh.blog.

The Christmas tree was by far my favorite purchase. It was pre-lit and so much cheaper than a brand new tree! There were TONS of different tree skirts too, something I never though to look for at the thrift store.

I have real candles in this shot, but they burn out so quickly I would get the battery powered tealights instead. I will link the ones I have now, they are battery powered but still use real wax!

These plates and place mats are two things I 100% would have bought if I had a dining room table. They would be so cute with some tall red candles, and a garland as the center piece.

All in all decorating my whole apartment cost under $150 including the tree and everything I had bought prior to decorating (lamps, mirrors, small tree, tinsel). I did buy the pillow you see above at Goodwill. I have done this several times before and have had no problems washing them in the washing machine, same goes for drying! That being said I would not recommend skipping this step, you never know where its been!

If you’re going to be shopping online this year, or the thrifts stores near you are a** check out Kaitlyn’s Christmas Decor post.
