Below are a few examples of how to style a statement purse & a couple of my favorite go to websites when i’m in search for an affordable statement purse.
Before we get started… what do you mean by ‘statement purse’?
A statement purse is basically any kind of bag with bold or funky shape, color, or textures that you throw on when you want to spice up an outfit. (Even better if you mix and match those components) I am talking so bold that it is the first thing anyone’s eyes are going to gravitate to when you walk by.
Statement purses can be a little nerve wrecking to purchase since they are a little out there and unique. That’s why all of the options listed below are below $100. <3

BOLD THROUGH SHAPE & COLOR
It’s kind of hard to tell with this photo but this bag is MASSIVE.
Both times I have worn this was with a bland outfit. By that, I mean an outfit with barely any texture, shape, or color. Without the purse, I feel like this looks like an outfit acceptable to wear to an office job. There’s not really anything fun or interesting about it. The purse was the perfect way to kick it up to the next level.

BOLD THROUGH COLOR
In my mind cheetah print is a color and at the moment my FAVORITE to wear/style around. I feel like it’s playful, sexy, chic & basically goes well with every color imaginable.
AKA… the perfect way to spice up an outfit!
I got this tote bag off of amazon for $12 & it’s truly one of my favorite cheetah print items that I own at the moment. The texture isn’t the typical canvas tote bag texture. It feels like it’s made out of velvet almost, soo buttery smooth! The allure of fur vs printed on canvas makes the bag even more interesting/ fun to look at.
BOLD THROUGH TEXTURE
The bag in the photo is the Free People Carryall. I’m obsessed with the quilted texture. It kind of reminds me of a puffer coat.. incredibly eye catching.
This is my favorite statement bag to grab when I have a bunch of stuff that I need to haul around. When I say it is roomy, that is truly an understatement. (Making it the perfect airport bag.) What I typically fit in a backpack, I fit twice as much in this carryall.

ANTHROPOLOGIE
Anthro forever and always has my heart for a good statement piece. They have amazing quality products and know all of the right fabrics/colors to combine to make an elegant & unique piece.
I have three statement purses from Anthro and all of them were under $100 with the extra 40% off on the sales rack sale. Truthfully, that’s how I shop for all of my purses and jewelry @ anthro. Love them, but their prices can be outrageous at times.
There is really no rhyme or reason as to when they put the extra 40% off into play so basically just keep an eye out!
JW PEI
JW PEI deserves to be crowned king/queen of statement purses. I unfortunately have not actually purchased from JW PEI yet but I am DYING to.
I use a lot of their purses for our outfit inspiration posts because they literally have a color/style/fabric to match anything and everything. They’re truly not afraid to go above and beyond plus their price points … chefs kiss.
VEGE NEW YORK
An angle fell from the heavens and blessed us with Vege NY. Think of any shape, color, style.. basically you name it they have it. They are also unique because they only make a style of purse one time. Once they sell out, you’re basically sh*it out of luck.
So if you eye something you like, don’t wait on it just buy it. My favorite part of their website is the inspo board for styling (scroll all the way to the bottom of the page).
POPPI LISSIMAN
Found this cute little number just the other day! I scrolled their entire website and saw textures & shapes that I have never seen on a purse before. Very out of the box and original.
I will note that they are a going to be the most expensive options out of the 4 listed in this section but would be so worth it. Plus.. nothing better than a good quality piece you will cherish forever.

NORDSDTROM RACK
NRack is one of the best places to shop luxury on a budget. Don’t get me wrong, I love to shop in person but when it comes to having variety.. online is going to be your best bet for purse selections.
I am obsessed with this little bubblegum pink number from Vince Camuto. The slouchy shape is perfect for an effortless chic vibe.
TJ MAXX
My first purse couple of purse purchases were all from TJ Maxx. Another great place to find a good piece on a budget. Every time I have gone in person, they have an amazing selection but obviously online won’t fail you either!
Rockstar girlfriend aesthetic is apparently the hot new look. I feel like this blue houndstooth tote matches the vibe perfectly.
