Fendi Baguette Bags are like a good ole glass of red wine… they just keep getting better with time.
LET’S TAKE A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE
The timeless bag first made its appearance in 1997 with it’s creator, Silvia Venturini Fendi. Yes… the bag’s name was actually inspired by the French baguette loaf. Silvia wanted to create something that could be carried as easily and comfortably as the French loaf was easily carried under women’s arms. Meaning, something that was longer than it was taller. Thus came along the famous Fendi Baguette Bag.
Although we are seeing them all over social media now, the bag didn’t gain very much traction until Ms. Carrie Bradshaw sported one in an episode of Sex and the City.
Since its release in 1997, there has been thousands of variations of the Baguette Bag. I have picked out 5 of my favorite vintage styles and created outfits based off of them.
Why you may ask?
The bags’ price range below are anywhere from $2,000 – $5,000. I am obsessed with the style variations and combinations but not that price point so I wanted to take them and turn them into an outfit that is affordable for ladies of all tax brackets… and simply just because I wanted to.

The powdered lime green color and shimmery sequence of this bag reminds me of a fun, flirty party girl. That’s exactly the audience I was trying to target when creating this outfit.
SPVLSP (dying at that abbreviation) Inspired Outfit
Somehow I humanized Lola from Shark Tales. Photo for reference.
Realistically you could definitely use it as a Halloween costume .. my original vision was for a girls night out though! The sunset sequence gave off a playful auora making me want to be a young college girl again.
This baguette bag is one of the most unique that I have seen. Instantly your eyes are drawn to the flashy multitude of pockets and silver Fendi buckles. I tried to replicate something of similar taste with the eye catching polka dot pattern and flashy silver accessories!
The name of this bag made me audibly laugh and fall in love with Fendi even more than I already was. A designer brand that has a playful witty side and found a way to turn denim designer? Sign me up.
