Six Trending Adidas Sambas

Adidas Sambas are one of the top trending fashion items at the moment

I don’t think any of us are unfamiliar with the Adidas brand so I am not going to waste either of our time doing a whole history lesson on the brand itself. I will give you a little brief on the up bringing of the ‘it girl’ shoe that has had us all in a choke hold for over a year now.

Sambas

There is a popular rumor spreading across the internet of how the shoe got its name. The rumor is that the shoe was given its name due to the World Cup being played in Brazil back when it was created. It was truly sheer coincidence that the shoe came to fruition at the same time that Brazil was playing in the World Cup in the 50’s and the term “Samba” is a popular Brazilian dance. Although Adidas did eventually release a collection dedicated to the World Cup being in Brazil in 2014.

Adidas Sambas were actually created for the throwing and tackling kind of football.. not the kicking football. The shoe got its name after a 1950’s football game in Germany when it helped to keep the players traction on frozen grass. If you’re confused as to how football, frozen grass and the term Samba coincide, join the club!

Basically all that you need to know is that the shoe has been around since the 1950’s and the many different variations created throughout their collections has made them irresistible

Want to know which Sambas are the freshest and where to find them?

Below are 6 trending Adidas Sambas I can’t get enough of.

If you fall in love with a pair, click the image and it will take you to the site to purchase! <3

Samba OG Shoe | ADIDAS | $100

Chic all black Sambas, as seen on Ms. Bella Hadid above.

I love a plain all black shoe because they look classy, can be dressed up or down, & can go with anything & everything! I’m obsessed with the addition of the felt toe tip on this shoe. I think it adds texture that makes them look more appealing/higher fashion.

Sambae Shoe | Adidas |$110

The pastel blue color on this pair would make for the perfect Spring outfit. I am obsessed with the platform look, which in my opinion, is rare for Sambas. They do have more neutral options for this pair on Adidas’ website if you’re not in love with the color on this one.

The rest of the pairs you are going to see are rare/hard to come by. They are also no longer sold on Adidas website so the links will take you to outside seller sources – don’t be afraid. When trying to find an out of stock shoe I always go to Farfetch or StockX because they both have great reputations. Each shoe size is going to be priced differently with the more common shoe sizes being more expensive. If you’re in the 7-8.5 range you might want to borrow a friends inhaler or grab a paper bag because you’re about to have the wind knocked out of you with these outrageous prices.

Maybe just think of them as your investment to fashion???

Samba OG | Farfetch | $300-$500

These are the same pair as the Bella Hadid black pair above just in a different color. Last year, vibrant cherry red had the nation in a choke hold. I think a deep purplish red, also known as maroon, is going to be pop off soon. I heard the it girls are calling this ‘Merlot red ‘.

I envision these with a chic business casual outfit: light wash jeans, oversized black blazer, plain tight fit tee, black belt with a chunky gold belt buckle, chunky gold jewelry, and a black slouchy oversized tote bag.

Samba Arsenal (whatever that means??) | StockX | BID

Remember that vibrant cherry red I was just referring to? Hi, this is her.

Cherry red will. never. go. out. of. style. She’s every category imaginable: youthful, classy, flirty, playful, sexy, chic and perfect for summer.

Whenever I think of summer I envision gingham red picnic tables, cherry popsicles, daisy duke shorts and cherry red lips, glass bottles of coke, & now these shoes. <3

Wales Bonner X Adidas

This is Grace Wales Bonner, English fashion designer.

After graduating from Central Saint Martins Art & Design College in 2014, Bonner created & launched her brand Wales Bonner. WB was originally a menswear brand but after receiving various fashion awards and quickly becoming highly successful, she expanded to womenswear and thank god for that. The woman is a pure genius.

Wales Bonner & Adidas joined together for a Fall/Winter collaboration in 2023. The collab shoes are commonly known for their signature long tongues, cross stitching, and unique fabrics. All of the shoes are sold out from both brands websites so again, the links are going to take you to second seller sites … and be on the pricey side. Below are my 2 favorite from the collection that I would actually sell an organ for.

If you want to sign up for their next drop, use the QR code below to download the CONFIRMED app & make sure your notifications are turned on. You’re going to want to make sure you get on FAST once you get that notification because they are going to sell out insanely fast.

Wales Bonner Silver | StockX | $500 – $1,100

I fell head over heels for this pair when I first saw them on Indy Blue. Influencers went absolutely feral for them after metallic sneakers took over social media.

My personal favorite part of this sneaker is the dainty cross stitching. When I see metallics, my mind instantly goes to the rockstar aesthetic type of vibe but I feel like the stitching gives the sneaker a more dainty feel that broadens the type of outfits you can wear them with.

Wales Bonner Leopard | StockX | $300 – $1,400

Do I need to explain myself for this one?

Cheetah print is in.. there is no hiding it. But a good cheetah print that doesn’t look screen printed or discolored is hard to come by. Wales Bonner absolutely KILLED the cheetah print on this pair of Sambas.

honorable mentions

Wales Bonner X Adidas collab shoes are ungodly hard to come by for a reasonable price. Like I said above, you’re going to want to sign up & purchase a pair from the next drop on Adidas actual website or take out a loan to be able to afford a pair from a second seller site. I couldn’t find links to the shoes below on sites that I actually trust but I couldn’t not include them. Truly remarkable work done.

Other sites you could check for a pair of sold out Sambas would be Poshmark, Depop, or Ebay. I would just make sure to read reviews on the seller before purchasing to ensure they are reliable!

XOXO – Kaitlyn
